We want everyone to be able to edit video with Summit. This statement is honest about where we are.
1Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on our website and, as far as the nature of a visual editor allows, in the studio.
2What works today
- Keyboard shortcuts for playback, seeking, splitting, deleting, undo and redo, duplicating, saving and exporting
- Visible focus outlines on interactive elements
- Animations reduce or stop when your system asks for reduced motion, and the home page animation has a pause button
- Icon buttons carry text labels for assistive technology
- Text colors on our website are checked for contrast
- Browser zoom works across the website
3Known gaps
- Moving and trimming clips on the timeline still needs a mouse, trackpad or touch
- The video preview is a canvas, so its contents are not described to screen readers
- Automatically generated captions can contain errors and should be reviewed
We are working on these and will update this page as they are fixed.
4How we check
We review pages against WCAG using automated checks and manual keyboard testing. We have not yet commissioned an independent audit.
